Born and residing in Thessaloniki, Greece. She studied music and song in Greece and Austria, and continued her studies on vocals and drama in Holland. As a soloist, she took part with Thessaloniki State and City Orchestras, the Greek Radio Orchestra and Choral, and participated in different ensembles – string quartet, Tango quartet, jazz and improvised music groups.
Her first album with Celtic songs from the Hebrides Isles, “Trackers of Iura”, was released in 1994. Six more albums were released including poems and songs by Kurt Weill, Bertolt Brecht, Tom Waits, Astor Piazzolla a.o., homages to silent films of Pabst and Murnau.
She is interested in the use of the voice in contemporary music as well as in performances with dance, theatre and silent movies.
Georgia Sylleou has been working with pianist – writer Sakis Papadimitriou since 1995. Since 2002 she cooperates with pianist – composer Thanos Mikroutsikos, and since 2004 with pianist – composer Theodoros Economou.
She has performed with Vincenzo Mastropirro, Vittorino Curci, Gianni Lenoci, Inge Missmahl, Michalis Christodoulidis, George Bandoek Apostolakis, Lakis Tzimkas, Christos Germenoglou, a.o.
